Benefits of using Entrance or Barrier Matting System (EMS)?

Functions of an Entrance System (The 3 R's)

Remove Dirt, Soil, Debris and Moisture

Entrance Matting System removes dirt, debris and particulates as well as absorb moisture from footwear as people enter a building. An ideal system provides seven or eight steps to cross, approximately 18 feet. A mat or grille system of 18 feet with both scraping and absorbing treads will stop 90% of tracked in dirt and moisture.

A well designed system most of the time uses a 3-zoned approach to achieve the optimal system length of 18 feet:
